HomeTech Staff is pleased to recognize Claire Lemire as Student of the Month. Danya Reynolds nominated Claire and says, “Claire is an absolute joy to work with. She always does her best and goes above and beyond in every class. She shows appreciation for what her teachers provide for her and she even asks for extra assignments. After every class she always tells me, 'Thank you' before she leaves. Claire radiates kindness and appreciation every day. HomeTech continues to celebrate students who demonstrate the character trait of Gratitude. Gail Kemp chose Alianna Davis as HomeTech’s Student of the Month. Gail said, “ Although Alianna is new to HomeTech, the amount of gratitude she has shown for just being a student at HomeTech has been in abundance! Alianna demonstrates gratitude in all that she does and this gratitude is noticed by her teachers and peers! HomeTech’s Student of the Month character trait for October’s was Gratitude and two teachers, Tina Hamm and Maxwell Hinchliff, both recognized how deserving Shane Heinke is of this recognition: “Shane practices gratitude everyday that he arrives on campus. This was not always the case! As a freshman, the last place in the world he wanted to be was in a classroom, and the last people he wanted to listen to were teachers. Shane has since transformed himself into a polite, considerate young man who is willing to learn. His "thank you" to us takes the form of effort from him. He asks focused questions about assignments, listens to explanations, and takes responsibility for work completion, all with the slightest smile on his face. In all of these ways and more, Shane acknowledges the gestures of care offered to him and appreciates the things that are going well in his life. It is with my gratitude, that I award him with this recognition.” “At one point I mentioned to Shane that I'm always happy to offer him support on his schoolwork since he was always willing to seek out support and ask questions about assignments. To which he responded something along the lines of "If you smile at someone they're more likely to smile back". Not only does Shane advocate for himself but when spoken to he shows the utmost respect and truly tries to understand what you're explaining to him. Aside from schoolwork Shane also has a very appreciative attitude towards everything in life. Shane truly does exemplify what it means to have gratitude.” Congratulations Shane! Congratulations Thomas Martin for being nominated by your teacher Danielle DiPietro-Hawkins as HomeTech’s Student of the Month! Danielle said, “Every day that Thomas is at school, he's enthusiastic, engaged, and shows gratitude for being at Hometech. As a student in my Intro to Spanish class, he's the first to volunteer answers or read aloud, and enjoys engaging in class discussions. In my culinary class, he readily participates not only in all cooking procedures, but in cleaning up as well. The thing that I've come to appreciate the most about Thomas is his open-mindedness and receptivity to guidance. If he needs to correct a behavior or an action, he's quick to acknowledge this, reflect, and make the change. The ability to do this at his age shows maturity and self-awareness beyond his years. HomeTech is pleased to congratulate Connor Eisenbeiss for being chosen by his teacher, Martin Svec, as Student of The Month. Martin said, “I have witnessed Connor consistently act with a great amount of respect and kindness in his daily interactions. He is polite, he genuinely listens to others, and leads with a compassion for those around him. He demonstrates the qualities of a loving and caring young man that is rare to see at his age.” Way to go Connor! It is very clear why Jacie Rogers was chosen by two of her teachers as HomeTech’s Student of the Month. Gail Kemp and Danielle DiPietro-Hawkins had these great things to say about Jacie: “Jacie consistently shows kindness and compassion towards others, whether it is providing a helping hand with solving a problem, checking in on an upset friend, or being tolerant of others. Jacie encourages those around her to persevere and it is evident how much she believes in others’ capabilities. Each day Jacie arrives at HomeTech she brings a positive attitude and sets an example of what caring for others looks like. Thank you Jacie for being the kind and compassionate young person that you are!” “Jacie is always looking out for others, and ways that she can help those in need. When it snowed last year, she and Colby went around knocking on people's doors volunteering to shovel driveways for free. One grateful woman called them, 'angels'. She regularly cooks large meals for her entire family, volunteers in various ways in the community such as with events for the veterans, and is never too busy to help out a friend. It's a pleasure to have Jacie as a student in Paradise Outreach as well as Advanced Culinary, and I respect the kind and compassionate person she is.”

Congratulations to Esther Burkhart for being chosen as HomeTech’s Student of The Month! Esther was nominated by her teacher Hailey Cahn. “Esther has shown that she is organized, motivated, patient, and caring. Not only does she complete her work in a thorough manner, but her dealings with teachers and other adults have always been the height of consideration. She is patient with others around her, and incredibly creative in her free time. I'm incredibly proud to count her as among my students,” said Mrs. Cahn. HomeTech’s Student of the Month theme for September was Kindness and Compassion, and we are pleased to congratulate Marina Baker who was nominated by Danya Reynolds. Danya said, “ Marina is a joy to have in class. She always treats her peers and teachers with respect and she radiates kindness. Her friendly and compassionate nature spreads throughout the classroom and helps to create a socially and emotionally safe environment which creates a place where students feel comfortable asking questions and having group discussions.” Thank you for being a great example to others Marina! Congratulations Hunter Ramsay for being chosen by your math teacher, Mr. H, as HomeTech’s Student of the Month! Mr. H said, “Hunter has been paying extra attention in class and even taught part of a lesson in his Math class. While teaching he made sure to ask his peers if he was going too fast and he was also very patient and kind when explaining his work. Hunter has also gone out of his way to go and buy a pizza during lunch to share with his peers and even myself. Hunter is growing into a more compassionate and kind student every day! He works independently and yet finds the drive to push himself academically. He has started making goals for himself and is particularly driven to create a successful future. Congratulations Jaxon Powell! Jaxon was chosen by his teacher Hailey Cahn as HomeTech’s Student of the Month. Hailey said, “Jaxon takes every opportunity to help out those around. He is helpful, kind, and considerate. He takes completing his assignments very seriously. Jaxon diligently and carefully works at tasks, even the ones he does not prefer. HomeTech’s character trait for August was Responsibility, and HomeTech is pleased to congratulate Emma Hanski for being nominated as Student of the Month by two of her teachers (Tina Hamm & Danya Reynolds). Emma’s teachers said, “Emma is off to a strong start at HomeTech and has proven herself to be a responsible student. Emma goes to all her classes, she is prepared and she stays on task throughout the entirety. In addition, Emma applies herself fully and has been turning in 100% of all her work. Emma's work ethic and willing disposition has set a positive tone for the eighth grade class.” Congratulations, Emma!
