Future Graduates of 2018
Seniors, you only have four more months until graduation! Do you have a plan? What will you be doing this time next year? Are you going to college? Will you be working? I hope you have answers for all these questions, and if you don’t you should think about it and talk to your family, teachers, and/or me about your options. I have some helpful information that might assist you with making some choices:
FREE COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Starting this Fall, Butte College will pay for tuition and fees for ALL new, first-time, full-time Butte College students for up to two semesters. Your family’s income level does not matter. Everyone will qualify for the Promise Scholarship as long as you complete a FAFSA. You are so lucky to be the first round of students to be awarded this scholarship. Take advantage of it!!!!!
Financial Aid (FAFSA)
Students applying to ANY college (including community colleges) need to apply for financial aid during their senior year. Financial aid applications will be available at Fafsa.ed.gov. Financial aid has free money available so don’t pass it up! Even if you think you will not qualify you NEED to apply, because your application is necessary to receive the Promise Scholarship in the Fall.
Wed February 7th- Financial Aid Night 6-8 pm (free workshop at Butte College Chico Center)
March 2nd - California deadline for financial aid.
Scholarships
Seniors planning on attending college in the FAll of 2018 can apply for scholarships (Free Money). There are thousands of scholarships available, and many go unused if students do not apply for them. Check with Ashley if you have any questions.
